Fort Grey, Rocquaine, Guernsey
The weather has become more settled, so I set my pochade up in a sheltered spot against the sea wall at Rocquaine Bay. Known locally as the “Cup and Saucer”, Fort Grey is a Martello tower built on a small islet in 1804 to defend Guernsey’s West coast. Many vessels have come to grief on this beautiful but treacherous coast, and Fort Grey now houses the Shipwreck Museum.
This painting is from day 27 of the Strada Easel Challenge.
