Guernsey crab and lobster fisherman (Matt Le Page)

Matt fished from a young age with his Dad, then from his own boats from around the age of fourteen. He now fishes from The Dolphin, a boat locally known as a Super Dinghy. He says “I love being out on the sea. The fishing industry is a struggle to say the least for the bigger boats. I don’t know how much longer they will be able to carry on. I will fish till the day I die, whether that be doing the pots and nets from my boat, or foraging from the shore. It’s a way of life and I wouldn’t change that for anything.
