Dougal was one of the first fishermen I met for this exhibition. He welcomed me into his home to chat about his life as a fisherman and when he took me out on his boat, the sun shone all day and it was so interesting watching him and sketching as he pulled in his nets.

This pastel was chosen to be exhibited at The Mall Galleries in London for the 2026 Royal Society of Marine Artists exhibition 16th – 26th September 2026
